Update: Response times & reading period

If you follow us on social media or receive our newsletter, you may already know about our experiment with a submission form to help streamline our subs process. As with many experiments, things don’t always turn out as we expect. While we expected this form to help us intake submissions and improve our response times during our reading period, due to accessibility issues this unfortunately hasn’t been the case. This has also meant that Winterlude 2022 has been particularly delayed.
Here’s what you can expect going forward:

  • We are currently finishing up our reading period for Winterlude 2022. Our policy is to respond to every submission, and we are still working our way through delivering responses. Your patience is very much appreciated.

  • Submissions for Vol. 3: Catalyst closed on April 30, 2022. We will slowly ramp up the reading period for this issue and try to stay as much on schedule for publication as possible. There may still be some delayed response times, so please do keep an eye on our social media, newsletter, or here for further updates.

  • Winterlude 2022 and Vol. 3: Catalyst will be published in very close succession or simultaneously in the first quarter of 2023.

  • We have decided to go back to our previous submissions system for future issues this year until we can find an alternative that doesn’t pose accessibility issues and will also allow us to respond to your submissions in a more timely way.

They say the second year of any venture is the most challenging, and we’re no exception. As always, your continued patience and support is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, our inbox is always open.
